The UIA is announcing the sixth cycle of the UIA Architecture & Children Golden Cube Awards. Happening once every three years, entries can now be prepared for the 2026 submission period through the RAIC online submission platform. Eligible entries will contain digital or physical activities or publications that were performed or produced between March 2023 and March 16, 2026.
The UIA Architecture & Children Golden Cubes Awards aim to promote architectural education for children and youth, encouraging future generations to play an active role in shaping more sustainable, inclusive, and human-centred environments. Eligible projects may include educational programmes, tools, media, or activities designed for young people from preschool through 18 years of age.
Entrants are invited to submit entries describing activities or products designed to teach children and young people about architecture and the built environment.
Awards will be presented in four award categories*:
1. School Award: General Education schools
2. Institution Award: Museums, Foundations, associations, NGOs
3. Written Media Award: Books, articles, guides, printed materials
4. Audio-visual Media Award: Documentaries, TV programmes, films, multimedia tools
*The international jury will present a special award to one nominated project that meaningfully addresses urgent global challenges such as war, natural disasters, climate crisis, or social disruption.
The UIA Architecture & Children Golden Cubes Awards process is not a competition for which entrants are expected to produce new projects. Instead, they are invited to present submissions relating to an activity that is currently taking place or has taken place or to a product that has been produced.
The Award Process has two phases: National and International.
The RAIC is organizing the selection process at the national level. The call for submissions is open for entries now until January 23, 2026. A jury will then select one entry per award category for submission to the International Awards.
Submit your project here.
Please note, International Award entries will only be reviewed in English.
During the second phase, the International Jury will evaluate the nominated entries and select one UIA Architecture & Children Golden Cubes Award in each category.
