On September 30, we honour Survivors, their families, and communities impacted by Canada’s residential school system. The RAIC recognizes the role architecture has played in colonization and displacement, and we are committed to advancing allyship, respect, and Indigenous leadership in shaping the built environment.
This year, the RAIC is shifting from a single National Day for Truth and Reconciliation event to an ongoing initiative. Our goal is to deepen engagement with truth, reconciliation, and respectful relationship-building with Indigenous peoples. Over the coming months, we will share reflections and perspectives from individuals who have been part of this journey. These stories will be featured on the RAIC website and across our social media channels.
We invite you to follow along, reflect, and join us in this ongoing work.
In the meantime, a meaningful step we can all take is to deepen our understanding of Indigenous histories, cultures, and resilience. The RAIC has resources available to support reflection, learning, and action. A meaningful step we can all take is to deepen our understanding of Indigenous histories, cultures, and resilience.
