The RAIC is proud to share that the Whole Building LCA National Training Alliance was honoured at the 2025 Real Property Institute of Canada (RPIC) Awards of Excellence, receiving the award for Category 1: Excellence in Foundations for Results and Benefits.
The award was presented during the RPIC National Summit on November 26, 2025, at the Rogers Centre in Ottawa.
Delivered from July 2024 to June 2025 as part of the Platform to Decarbonize the Construction Sector at Scale, the initiative—led by the National Research Council of Canada’s Construction Research Centre in partnership with the RAIC and Ha/f Climate Design—provided bilingual Whole Building Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) training to over 1,100 professionals, helping close a national gap in embodied carbon literacy.
This cross-sector collaboration brought together federal departments, governments, academic partners, and industry associations to build practical capacity for integrating LCA into design, procurement, and infrastructure delivery. With strong satisfaction results, clear knowledge gains, and a scalable curriculum now offered on-demand, the initiative has strengthened Canada’s ability to advance low-carbon buildings and public infrastructure.
