Important changes have been announced to the National Urban Design Awards (NUDA), presented by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) in association with the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) and the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (CSLA).
Together, the three organizations have made the decision to postpone the 2026 National Urban Design Awards to 2027. Going forward, the NUDA’s will be held in odd-numbered years (e.g., 2027, 2029, and so on).
This change will help us better align the NUDA’s within our broader awards calendar and contribute to the long-term sustainability of the program.
Please note: Winners of the Municipal Urban Design Awards from both 2025 and 2026 will be eligible and encouraged to submit their projects to the 2027 National Urban Design Awards.
If you have any questions or require further information, please don’t hesitate to contact the RAIC at awards-prix@raic.org.
Thank you for your continued support of the National Urban Design Awards.
