Autochtonizing an architectural or urban planning project goes far beyond adding aesthetic elements. It requires a transformation of working methods, valuing indigenous knowledge and building relationships of trust with communities. It is essential that teams are made aware of indigenous issues, notably through training covering colonial history and the rights of indigenous peoples. This awareness avoids stereotypes and promotes active listening to community needs.
Success relies on trust-based relationships, built through regular meetings, transparent consultations and the integration of indigenous knowledge into the decision-making process. The flexibility of our professionals is essential to adapting our approaches to local realities and traditional knowledge, thus guaranteeing projects that respect local cultures and practices. By integrating this knowledge, projects can honor indigenous traditions while creating sustainable, environmentally-friendly solutions.
Develop trusting relationships in aboriginal environments.
Implement better approaches with aboriginal communities in their next projects.
Design their work methodology to community projects.
Recognize the value of traditional aboriginal knowledge in a respectful way in their future projects.
