
Fellows of the RAIC College are invited to submit a nomination for the position of Chancellor of the RAIC College. The Chancellor shall be elected by Fellows from the list of nominations. The election shall take place in the last year of the office of the current Chancellor and be adopted at the virtual RAIC Annual Business Meeting.
The term of current Chancellor, Gerrie Doyle, FRAIC, of Ottawa, ends June 2026.
The result of the election will be subject to ratification by the Board. The Chancellor of the RAIC College is a voting member of the Board of the RAIC.
The Chancellor will be invited to join the RAIC Conference for the RAIC College convocation, taking place in Vancouver, BC, from May 5 – 8, 2026.
Duties of the Chancellor are as follows:
Attend meetings of the Board of Directors and fully participate in the Board’s strategic planning, policy development and monitoring and evaluation work.
The Chancellor shall act as presiding officer at the Convocation of Fellows and at the meetings of the Officers of the RAIC College.
The Chancellor shall perform all of the duties incidental to the office, those required by the Rules and Regulations of the RAIC College, and those delegated to the office by the Officers of the RAIC College; including serving as a Trustee of the RAIC Foundation.
The Chancellor shall report on a regular basis to all members of the College.
The Chancellor shall serve a three-year term, with a maximum of two consecutive terms, commencing following the Annual General Meeting of the RAIC in 2026.
Please note the following conditions:
Only RAIC Fellows in good standing are eligible to nominate a Fellow and be nominated for the position of Chancellor;
Each candidate is required to be nominated by five (5) Fellows in good standing;
In the interest of fair play, current Officers of the College, other National Committee members and members of the Board of Directors of the RAIC shall not nominate or otherwise publicly support a candidate.

The completed nomination form, available here, accompanied by a 200-word statement from the candidate, briefly outlining the candidate’s background and vision on meeting the challenge of leading the RAIC College, should be emailed to tdamours@raic.org to be received no later than 8:00 p.m. ET on January 6, 2026.
