Jury Panel Announced for 200-Block Banff Avenue Redevelopment Architectural Design Competition

The RAIC is excited to announce the distinguished jury panel that will evaluate design proposals for the highly anticipated 200-Block Banff Avenue Redevelopment Project architectural design competition, sponsored by Parks Canada. 

Following a formal call for Expressions of Interest from qualified professionals in March 2025, the RAIC has assembled a 10-member jury that brings together professionals in the field of architecture and building design. The balance of the Jury is a diverse group representing areas of interest applicable to this competition. 

Jury Composition 

The jury is comprised of nine professionally qualified individuals with expertise in building design, architecture, and engineering: 

Carol Belanger – Architect, Edmonton, Alberta 
Catherine Berris – Landscape Architect and Planner, Vancouver, British Columbia 
Renée Daoust – Architect and Urban Designer, Montreal, Quebec 
Nicolas Demers-Stoddart – Architect, Montreal, Quebec 
David Down – Architect, Calgary, Alberta 
Naomi Ratte – Intern Landscape Architect, Winnipeg, Manitoba 
Janet Rosenberg – Landscape Architect, Toronto, Ontario 
Dr. Brian R. Sinclair – Professor of Architecture, Calgary, Alberta 
Claire Weisz – Architect, Toronto and New York 

Additionally, Christine Loth-Bown, Vice-President of External Relations and Visitor Experience at Parks Canada, will serve as the Parks Canada representative on the jury.
