Jury Comment(s):

“A delightful stroke of well anchored tactical urbanism, this project solicits nostalgic themes from the town’s history, reimagines elements with a clearly contemporary twist, then activates them with bold colours, lighting, and pleasant, memorable furniture. The level of clean attention to detail and clarity of design intent is commendable. It activates the streetscape in a vibrant and pleasing way.”

“This main street design project is recognized for its outstanding design of the public realm. Conscious effort has been put into designing the streetscape elements and the type of spaces that visually interconnect with each other. Each node is very inviting through its colour and form and allows for an engaging public experience.”

“Leveraging an analysis of vernacular building types and material cultures and skillfully transforming these traditional elements of the East Coast landscape into unapologetic contemporary forms that comprehensively animate main street, this project is truly emblematic of the spirt of this award.”
