KANVA is the Montreal multidisciplinary collective led by Tudor Radulescu (OAQ LEED PA MRAIC) and Rami Bebawi (OAQ MRAIC RBQ). Founded in 2003, KANVA demonstrates architecture’s transformative power through a range of disciplines and scales, from the ephemeral to the institutional.

With a triple-discipline expertise – architecture, construction and management – KANVA strives to not only meet clients’ goals, but also contribute a high level of value to their projects. The unification of construction skills with creativity ensures the expression and integrity of conceptual intentions in the final product, as well as allows building systems to address issues of design intention, budget and schedule.

The collective’s work has been featured in international publications such as Azure, Canadian Architect, Architecture Mouvement Continuité, Dezeen, ArchDaily, Designboom, Phaidon Atlas and The New York Times.

They are the recipients of a number of awards such as the 2013 RAIC Award of Excellence; multiple Grands Prix du Design Awards and the Illuminating Engineering Society Award.

KANVA has recently won the Warming Huts competition in Winnipeg and the international Space for Life architecture competition to re-imagine the Montreal Biodome, demonstrating the broad scope of their work.

This team of individuals with diverse cultural origins emphasizes the importance of bringing greater visibility to architecture. From initiating community outreach programs to bringing attention to a public project, KANVA is invested in rendering architecture more accessible to a wide audience of people.
