Project lead – Architect/Intern Architect
Barbora Vokac Taylor Architect Inc. is an architectural and interior design practice
serving clients on projects focused on quality, wellbeing, and sustainability.
BVTA is hiring an experienced Architect/Intern Architect with a minimum 5 years’
design/project management experience and strong references to join our team in
delivering high quality residential, institutional, and interior projects.
Our goal is to deliver quality projects with professional services. With each project,
we advance the practice’s smooth delivery of fine work through strong design,
improved project management systems and developing sustainable design
practices.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The ideal candidate:
- Is organized and detail-oriented,
- Has strong project management skills and can manage multiple tasks, moving between projects with ease,
- Delivers clear, precise, and concise communication: both in drawings and documents,
- Has strong design, communication, and diplomacy skills,
- Enjoys problem solving – both independently and as part of a team,
- Is comfortable navigating the OBC and Zoning Regulations Independently,
- Confident to lead and coordinate construction document packages for small to mid-size projects independently, under the supervision of a senior architect,
- Professional licensure is encouraged however, it is not a requirement. The ideal candidate should be committed to long-term professional growth and goals including attending and participating in continuing education events,
- We provide a collaborative, positive team environment for those that are open to direction and eager to learn,
- Proficiency with Revit, Enscape and strong drawing skills are required.
- Has strong references.

PROJECT LEAD POSITION OVERVIEW:

Project leads are responsible for:
- The delivery of projects and project deliverables, meeting deadlines and budget targets throughout all phases of the design and construction process: Schematic Design through Construction Administration*, including:
o Client Presentations, that may include Enscape visualizations from Revit Models,
o Directing and coordinating consultants,
o Organizing documents consistent with office standards,
o Maintaining knowledge of office standards, policies, and procedures,
o Establishing appropriate level of detailing based on project
parameters,
o Other duties that are logically inherent to this role.
- Working closely with Senior Architect to co-develop project budgets and schedules to ensure smooth project delivery and keeping the Senior Architect informed of project progress on a regular basis,
- Is the main point of contact for clients, contractors, and consultants,
- A typical project load is 3-5 active projects at various stages or 2-3 midsize projects.
*Construction Administration experience is an asset, but training is available.

Salary:

Annual $70,000 starting salary, upwards depending on experience + annual health spending account.
