POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a qualified Registered Architect to join our team in delivering innovative architectural and interior design services for commercial and residential projects. This full-time permanent position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects across all design phases. Candidates should be familiar with design-focused, detail-oriented design, and sustainable design principles, and have exposure to all phases of the design process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Realize architectural design from concepts to construction.
- Conduct client consultations, determine project requirements and define design aesthetics
- Perform feasibility studies, conduct cost estimates, manage project budgets, and develop construction schedules
- Prepare comprehensive technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents across both architecture and interior design scopes
- Create 3D architectural models, visual renderings, and 3D printed prototypes for client presentations
- Participate in project bidding, contract negotiation and contractor selection
- Research and ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and municipal bylaws
- Prepare and submit permit applications and coordinate with regulatory authorities
- Administer in construction phase including site visits, submittal reviews, and RFI responses
- Coordinate with structural, mechanical, consultants and construction professionals

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Education & Licensure
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program
- Registration as an Architect with the Alberta Association of Architects (AAA)
- LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) certification

Experience

- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in architectural practice, preferably in Alberta
- This experience should encompass all project phases including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and contract administration. It should further include:
- commercial and residential projects
- architectural design and interior design
- reviewing mechanical, electrical, and structural drawings on a detailed level, and coordinating these consultants
- visiting site, conducting detailed field reviews, and documenting these reviews
- formal construction administration documentation (change orders, RFIs, progress claims, etc.)

Technical Skills

Candidates should demonstrate a high level of proficiency in all of the below skills / software:

- Design and documentation: Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp
- Advanced visualization and rendering: Enscape, 3D printing (PrusaSlicer)
- Presentation and documentation: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary

$41 per hour with annual incremental increases of 3-5%
