1. BACKGROUND
The Vince Catalli Fund was established in 2020 with a $120,000 donation from Vince Catalli, aiming to promote and support innovative, practically scalable, and transferable approaches to sustainable design among the next generation of architects in Canada.
2. ELIGIBILITY
The Vince Catalli Grant for Sustainable Architectural Innovation will be awarded to a completed design or research project that is scalable, transferable, and has potential for commercialization.
It may be awarded to any student enrolled in the last two years of a professional degree program at an accredited Canadian architecture school or in Part III of the RAIC Syllabus program. Each school can select up to two (2) students to apply for this grant.
3.AMOUNT
One grant of $5,000 will be awarded each year. The grant will be presented to the recipient at the RAIC annual conference. Travel expenses and one night’s hotel accommodation for the recipient will also be covered by the fund.
80% of the amount of the grant ($4,000) will be paid to the recipient upon announcement. The recipient will be required to submit to the RAIC Foundation, within 12 months of the award, a report on the further development, promotion or commercialization of their innovative concept or product that the grant has allowed them to pursue. The remaining 20% of the grant ($1,000) will be paid upon submission of this report.
