The College of Fellows (COF) Centennial Fund for Interns or Intern Architects was created in 2007 with donations received from Members of the College of Fellows and Members of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) to support a deserving Intern or Intern Architect or group of Interns/Intern Architects wishing to promote the value and image of the profession.
The terms of reference were revised in 2024 to extend the eligibility of the grants awarded by the COF Centennial Fund to graduates of an accredited Canadian school of architecture and graduates of the RAIC Syllabus program, in addition to Interns/Intern Architects.
Eligibility
The grants from the RAIC Foundation COF Centennial Fund for Graduates of Architecture and Interns/Intern Architects may be awarded to:
- Any RAIC member who is a recent graduate* of an accredited Canadian school of architecture;
- Any RAIC member who is a recent graduate* of the RAIC Syllabus program;
- Any RAIC member who is an Intern or Intern Architect registered with a provincial/territorial association at the time of the submission deadline.
A team, at least half of which are recent graduates of an accredited Canadian school of architecture, recent graduates of the RAIC Syllabus program, interns who are members of the RAIC, or both graduates and interns can submit a collective candidacy and proposal.
*Graduated up to five (5) years prior to the entry deadline.
Two grants of $5,000 each will be awarded annually, until the fund is completely spent.
The grants will be presented to the recipients at the RAIC annual conference. The costs of travel and one night hotel accommodation will be provided from the fund to enable the recipients to attend.
