DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE - PDF
In the fall, the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada will offer a project management course for architects and trainees in Toronto, Montreal and Victoria. These courses will provide project management skills in the context of an architect's office and will prepare participants for the Project Management Institute's PMP® Certification Exam. The courses will include:
- project management tools and templates for the practice of architecture;
- 35 hours of training plus a 6-hour hands-on workshop where participants will learn how to use the tools and templates;
- a PMP® Certification Exam Prep Kit including a manual, study assistance tools, online resources, and a bank of online exam questions.The Project Management Course for Architects RAIC:
1. provide architectural trainees and new practitioners and architectural office owners with a solid foundation in contemporary project management, tools and techniques;
2. Prepare participants to sit for the Project Management Institute Project Management Certification (PMP®) exam.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course, the participant will be able to:
- prepare a project plan for a design project, including a work plan, schedule, top-down and bottom-up fee calculations; and a risk management plan;
- develop a stakeholder management plan for a design project;
- connect the practice of architecture to the ten areas of knowledge of the body of knowledge of contemporary management project, as described in the book A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK ® Guide ) PMI;
- to take the Project Management Institute (PMP®) Project Management Certification Exam, after having devoted additional time to the study.
Course characteristics
· Practical timetable:
o The 41-hour course is offered in two weekends.
o The course starts on Thursday evening at 6 pm and ends on Saturday at 5 pm
· 35 hours of classes
· 6 hours workshop.
· Practical course and workshop on the use of project management tools and templates for an architectural office.

Les classes sont limitées à 30 participants.
