Located in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, as Facility Planning Consultant for the Department of Health and Social Services, you would be responsible for the planning, implementation and monitoring of a multimillion dollar capital and O&M budgets, the support and evaluation of facilities in health and social services boards of management, and the planning and monitoring of over seventy (70) health and social services facilities in all communities in the NWT.
In this role, you would often be required to travel and provide expert advice to regions and communities in the North. The work is largely conducted in a team environment, including the Department of Health and Social Services, Boards of Management, the Department of Infrastructure and many other stakeholders.
As Facility Planning Consultant, you would retain overall authority and responsibility for all final design and delivery decisions. You would also be required to monitor projects in any or all boards and communities at any one time, as well as simultaneously working on several major planning projects.
To be successful in this role, you would typically need:
- a Bachelor Degree in Architecture/Engineering plus 7 years of relevant experience
- a Diploma in Architectural/Engineering Technology plus 9 years of relevant experience
*A minimum of 2 years cold/remote location experience is preferred.
