The Operations Centre built for Parks Canada demonstrates how the natural resources found on a site can be fully integrated within a building to minimize its environmental footprint, and create a building that is highly evocative of the place in which it is built. Located on the waterfront in Sidney, BC, this three-storey building serves as the headquarters for The Gulf Islands National Park Reserve, established in 2003, and includes facilities for marina operations, administrative staff, and an interpretive centre.

Frits de Vries designed the Kerchum Residence focusing on integrating efficient environmental consciousness with a modern architectural aesthetic. The home has received LEED® Platinum for Homes Certification with its energy consumption, finishes, and landscape design all working together to push the boundaries of sustainability. Yet the architectural focus has not been compromised: it explores the potential for a diversity of spatial experiences in a home, as well as accommodating a multitude of expectations and functions.

Located at 800 Yates Street in downtown Victoria, the Atrium is a 7-storey 200,000s.f. mixed office and commercial building, with two levels of underground parking.
