Towards a Climate Action Plan

The RAIC virtual conference kicked off June 1st with a panel keynote focused on inspiring climate action - featuring Dr. Jeannette Armstrong, Kiel Moe, and moderated by Andrea Reimer. The month-long virtual event roster will close this week with a nation-wide engagement event. This event is also focused on the engagement process for the development of the RAIC’s Climate Action Plan, with an aim of showcasing built environment climate leadership across diverse sectors, demonstrating positive momentum and best practices we know today, and to identify potential collaboration opportunities. It will consist of three moderated panel discussions: 1) Practice – Interprofessional; 2) Advocacy – Governmental; and 3) Education – The Future of Architectural Education. Each panel will be followed by breakout group discussions.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand built environment climate leadership priorities and directions across leading public sector organizations
  • Understand the potential to accelerate climate leadership through multi-sector partnerships and collaboration with allied professionals.
  • Identify emerging potential in the future of architectural and design professional education.
  • Understand how to participate in the development of the RAIC’s climate action engagement and enablement plan and the core components of the plan.
