Conference 2022 Series

Cybersecurity is not an IT issue– it is a business issue and one that affects organizations of all shapes and sizes, including architectural firms. The cyber landscape is complex, with new cyber threats and actors emerging constantly. Regulatory changes, evolving technology, and people all contribute to an organization’s cyber readiness. To compound this, companies are now facing liability for significant penalties even when no data breach has occurred due to new compliance requirements dictating how sensitive data can be stored and used. With evolving data privacy regulations, firms must be aware of how they handle their clients’ personal data and the different regulations they are required to comply with. While it is easy to be overwhelmed by cybersecurity issues, prudent architectural professionals can avoid major financial and reputational losses with appropriate cyber due diligence and incident response frameworks. In this interactive session, participants will work through a live security breach most likely to affect architectural firms, leveraging incident response plans and mitigation strategies in real-time.

Learning Objectives:

By the completion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Define cybersecurity and their role in mitigating cyber threats.
  • Explain the application of Incident Response Plans (IRPs).
  • Outline the steps in the incident response life cycle.
  • Identify the key stakeholders of an incident response team.
