Les inscriptions sont fermées pour cet événement.
For the month of December, the RAIC is pleased to present a weekly series on the subject of Marketing and Communications in Architecture.

Writing and Communications for Architecture Firms
Date: December 18, 2019
Presenter: Catherine Osborne

SESSION:
The media landscape has changed dramatically in the past decade, expanding into multiple formats that include everything from weekly newsletters to podcasts and international conferencing. It is now standard for even the smallest firms to have at least one dedicated team member handling marketing and communications. But how does any firm, large or small, negotiate the various media options in an ever-growing competitive market. What is the best way to get noticed in order to reach potential clients, and how much should you invest in that outreach? Every firm is unique, with it's own story to tell, so there is no standard answer. But distinguishing your firm from competitors is critical, and it begins by developing a rich understanding of what your story is, and how it should be told. As a writer and communications expert I can shed light on the principles behind an effective strategy and how to get started, or else to refresh or rebuild on what you are doing now, but has become outdated.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
At the completion of this session, the participant/learner will be able to:

  • Extrapolating your firm's unique story
  • Determining how much an effective communications strategy will cost
  • The pros and cons of hiring professional writers and editors
  • Tips on how to get started

Continuing education learning hours: 1 credit

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Monday, December 16, 2019, at 5:00 p.m. ET.

Catherine Osborne is a passionate authority on international architecture and design. She is formerly the Editor of Azure, one of North America’s leading architecture and design publications, and where she played a key role in transforming the magazine into a multi-platform media brand that now includes an international awards program, live talks and events, and robust social media channels.

In 2019, she founded her own communications studio in order to work directly with clients, helping them develop effective ways to reveal their stories, and to connect with audiences in meaningful ways. Each firm is unique, which requires a unique communications approach, whether it is through newsletters or podcasts. Her services include creative writing, editing that gives good ideas their strongest, most compelling voice, and strategic planning to help map, launch and synchronize media programs in every format.
