The RAIC Congress on Architecture will take place on October 2 - World Architecture Day. Congress brings professionals together to ignite action, strengthen connections, and share ideas on a single issue of importance to the profession. The 2023 RAIC Congress on Architecture will focus exclusively on Climate Action and Architecture in Canada and the development of a Climate Action Plan for the RAIC.  The event will be held in the Great Hall of the award-winning Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre in Whistler, a unique Aboriginal Cultural Centre that showcases the two First Nations communities that lived in the Whistler area. The session will be eligible for 5.5 hours of Continuing Education and certificates of participation will be provided.

RAIC 2023 Congress - World Architecture Day Reception

The event will be held at renowned Audain Art Museum, designed by internationally acclaimed Patkau Architects. The museum features an outstanding permanent boutique collection of historical and contemporary Northwest Coast art, complimented with changing world-class temporary exhibitions. Its reception hall and galleries provide the perfect location for gatherings of all sizes, where guests will enjoy the surrounding artwork set amidst a stunning natural environment. RAIC 2023 Congress - Low Carbon Education Day  

October 3, 2023, 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

This architect-specific workshop consists of modules that will provide knowledge of low-carbon principles on a variety of topics, including but not limited to:  

1. Environment, Social and Governance
2. Integrated Design Processes 
3. Life Cycle Assessment 
4. Energy Modelling and Management 
5. Transition Planning 

This workshop has been developed in collaboration with an advisory committee and key subject-matter experts and is part of a broader project to train and upskill the building design and construction workforce in low-carbon skills. 

Registration – Free for architects, interns, technologists and students. All in the architectural community are welcome.
