The RAIC invites proposals for the presentation of continuing education sessions and architectural tours during the RAIC 2023 Conference on Architecture to be held from May 2nd to May 6th, 2023 in Calgary, AB. This event will also have a virtual component for continuing education sessions.

The program, which is tailored for professional and educational success, will feature high-quality learning opportunities that include interactive content, innovative ideas, and engaging discussions. Nominations for Honorary Fellowship 
 
An Honorary Fellow of the RAIC College is an Honorary Member of the RAIC who has achieved international professional eminence or has rendered distinctive service to the profession or to the community at large, nationally or internationally. Architects registered in Canada are not eligible for nomination. Nomination and advancement to Honorary Fellowship is administered by the RAIC College. Honorary Fellowship is bestowed for life and is one of the highest honours the RAIC can confer upon a Member. 
 
A Fellow of the Institute may nominate any individual for Honorary Fellowship of the RAIC College. Nominations require the support of at least two (2) Members as References. Honorary Fellowship will be considered for an international architect, or allied professional in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the built environment. 
 
We invite all members of the RAIC to nominate an individual.

Join the RAIC in our inaugural Showcase series, a collaboration between Continuing Education and Honours and Awards programs. The series, running from September to November 2022, aims to shed light on the amazing projects and practices receiving recognition today, and on the people, and their motivations and ideas behind them.   
 
Our first session, on September 13th, 2022, features the National Urban Design’s Civic Design Award certificate of merit winning CF Toronto Eaton Centre Bridge by Zeidler Architecture and WilkinsonEyre.  
 
David Collins from Zeidler Architecture and Dominic Bettison from WilkinsonEyre will present their project, followed by a moderated discussion with RAIC Honours and Awards Manager, and recently licensed architect, Amanda Shore, and conclude with a Q&A session with event participants.  
 
In this 90-minute session, we plan to delve into the story behind the finished project and talk about the creative and design process within the scope of an entire project.  
 
This program seeks to educate architects, intern architects, and non-architects alike, making ‘architecture,’ and all it encompasses, more accessible and engaging to everyone.

It was three years in the making for a two-night event at Toronto Harbourfront Centre that became the Architectural hot spot in the city. As the first Canadian city to host the Renzo Piano Building Workshop (RPBW) Exhibit, Piece by Piece, on Friday, July 15, 2022, guests were treated to decades of the famous Italian architect’s work, followed by the premier screening of Inside the Renzo Piano Building Workshop on Saturday, July 16, 2022.

In consultation with the Fees and Procurement Working Group, the RAIC has established a survey for intern architects to gather data related to salaries.

This information will be used to build an understanding of current compensation rates, illustrate the fair market compensation for intern architects employed in Canada, and regional variations across the country in terms of compensation and benefits and gather information to inform advocacy and outreach efforts.

The professional advisor is supported by RAIC staff who take the primary responsibility for organizing, convening, and managing award submissions and jury meetings; and by the RAIC Awards Advisory Committee. The professional advisor is an ex-officio, non-voting member of the RAIC Awards Advisory Committee.
