Join the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) and the Canadian Council of University Schools of Architecture (CCUSA) on July 9 and 10 for a live broadcast of the 2020 Virtual Academic Summit on Architecture. 
 
This summit presents twelve papers from schools of architecture—featuring the latest in research from Canadian academics and practitioners in the fields of architecture and design. 

Twelve papers will be presented through four moderated sessions over two days. 
 
Session topics include:
- Constructing a Sustainable World 
 
- Hands-on Pedagogies  

- New Machine Paradigms  

- Broadening the Conversation 

The RAIC is inviting participation from two indigenous architect members to join a newly formed TRC Task Force. More information about this task force: click here.

On Friday, March 13, 2020, RAIC CEO Mike Brennan announced that the head office facility would be closed temporarily and launched a remote working capacity for all staff. Since then, the decision has been made by Board and Staff that—as of June 30, 2020—the RAIC will no longer physically operate out of our office on 55 Murray Street in Ottawa, ON.

This joint effort by the Canadian Urban Institute and the RAIC invites participants to develop innovative, responsible, sustainable, and resilient design solutions that can be implemented during COVID-19 recovery and post-pandemic.

A volunteer position is open on the CCDC panel for an RAIC representative from Quebec. The candidate must be conversant in construction contracts and possess ample experience in the design-construction industry to understand the nuances of client-contractor and client-architect relationships. The candidate should be familiar with the Civil Code as it applies to construction contracts, payment, lien rights, and related legislation.
