Update from the Syllabus National Advisory Committee (Fall 2025)

The RAIC Syllabus National Advisory Committee reports ongoing program enhancements and activities. The program continues to host welcome meetings at the start of each term. These well-attended sessions provide valuable opportunities to connect new students with the Syllabus community. The operational team will continue hosting these sessions twice per year. 

The review and updating of Syllabus policies and procedures is ongoing to ensure continued alignment with program needs and to enhance the student experience. To further strengthen coordination, Athabasca University and the Syllabus administrative office have established quarterly review meetings to maintain consistent alignment and communication.

Culture of Design Working Group 

The RAIC is launching a new Culture of Design Working Group and invites expressions of interest from members who wish to contribute their expertise and perspectives. 
 
Purpose 

The Culture of Design Working Group will advance dialogue, knowledge, and action on the role of design in shaping Canada’s built environment. The group will explore how design influences culture, well-being, equity, sustainability, and innovation in architectural practice and society at large.

OAA-OGCA Take-Over Procedures – Document 100 

The Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) and the Ontario General
Contractors Association (OGCA) have released a new version of their co-authored
OAA-OGCA Take-Over Procedures document. Also known as Document 100-
2025, this updated resource outlines recommended steps for the closing stages of a
construction contract as the owner assumes control of the project from the contractor.
It approaches the topic with the interests of all parties in mind.
