At the 2024 International Union of Architects (UIA) Forum in Kuala Lumpur (November 15-19), the RAIC helped advance Indigenous perspectives through activities associated with the UIA Indigenous Peoples Work Program (IPWP). The RAIC also represented Canada at the UIA General Assembly, and engaged in strategic discussions with leading architectural organizations around the globe.

Tony was born in 1945 in London, England, and grew up with loving parents Kenneth and Gwendolen James and sister Elizabeth. He studied at the University of Manitoba and at the University of British Columbia, attaining a Masters in Architecture and Masters in Urban Planning respectively.

The RAIC annual awards are a celebration of creativity, innovation, and excellence in Canadian architecture. If you know of a person, project, or practice that demonstrates these qualities, the RAIC annual awards are an opportunity for them to gain national recognition. 

Fellows are invited to nominate their peers for the position of Registrar of the RAIC College. 

The term of Liza Medek, FRAIC, of Ottawa, who is the current Registrar, ends June 3, 2025; she has confirmed that she will be standing for re-election.  

The Registrar is responsible for recording all actions taken at the Convocation and meetings of the National Committee. The Registrar will serve a three-year term, which begins at the RAIC College Annual Business Meeting in June 2025. 

The deadline for nominations is January 15, 2025.
