Submit a Label Design for the Official Conference Beer! 

The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and Bomber Brewing are excited to launch a design competition as part of the 2026 RAIC Conference. Participants are invited to design a label for a limited-edition Bomber Brewing lager under the theme: “Architecture Connects Us”. 

Everyone is welcome to enter—architects, students, designers, artists, and members of the public. The grand prize includes your artwork featured on the official conference beer, an All-Access Pass to the 2026 Conference, and coverage across RAIC media. Last Call - Culture of Design Working Group 

The RAIC is launching a new Culture of Design Working Group and invites expressions of interest from members who wish to contribute their expertise and perspectives. 
 
Purpose 

The Culture of Design Working Group will advance dialogue, knowledge, and action on the role of design in shaping Canada’s built environment. The group will explore how design influences culture, well-being, equity, sustainability, and innovation in architectural practice and society at large.

UIA International Emerging Workshop
 
The UIA World Congress of Architects 2026 Barcelona (UIA2026BCN) launches the UIA International Emerging Workshop, the Congress’s special format designed for students and young practitioners to engage in a real-time laboratory led by twelve emerging architectural practices.
 
The workshop will take place from June 19-27, 2025, one week before the Congress, offering a dynamic programme of workshops, public lectures, inspiring conversations with Worskshop Leaders and citywide site visits, all setting the stage for the Congress events.

The Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) and the Ontario General
Contractors Association (OGCA) have released a new version of their co-authored
OAA-OGCA Take-Over Procedures document. Also known as Document 100-
2025, this updated resource outlines recommended steps for the closing stages of a
construction contract as the owner assumes control of the project from the contractor.
It approaches the topic with the interests of all parties in mind.
