Mark your calendars! The 2026 RAIC Conference on Architecture returns to Vancouver, BC, from May 5–8, 2026 at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre. Join architectural professionals and industry leaders for Canada's premier gathering on architecture and design. Explore solutions to climate change, digital transformation, and evolving societal needs through learning sessions, networking, and architectural tours. 

The RAIC seeks a skilled event photographer to capture this landmark conference—including keynote sessions, networking events, the awards celebrations, our tradeshow, and architectural tours. The photographer will be paid an honorarium of $1,750. Apply by December 19, 2025. 

The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and Bomber Brewing are excited to launch a design competition as part of the 2026 RAIC Conference. Participants are invited to design a label for a limited-edition Bomber Brewing lager under the theme: “Architecture Connects Us”. 

Everyone is welcome to enter—architects, students, designers, artists, and members of the public. The grand prize includes your artwork featured on the official conference beer, an All-Access Pass to the 2026 Conference, and coverage across RAIC media. Two runners-up will be highlighted on social media channels.

The RAIC is launching a new Culture of Design Working Group and invites expressions of interest from members who wish to contribute their expertise and perspectives. 
 
Purpose 

The Culture of Design Working Group will advance dialogue, knowledge, and action on the role of design in shaping Canada’s built environment. The group will explore how design influences culture, well-being, equity, sustainability, and innovation in architectural practice and society at large.

The RAIC, jointly with the Canada Council for the Arts, is thrilled to announce that we’re officially accepting submissions for the 2026 Governor General’s Medals in Architecture. Your submission is an opportunity to showcase outstanding design in a recently built project in Canada or anywhere in the world.  We invite you to advance the architectural discipline while inspiring Canadians to recognize architecture's profound cultural impact on our communities.
