RAIC Community Survey – Your Input is Crucial 

Tell us what you need from the RAIC, by taking the Community Survey open until September 15. We’re looking for your input on how we can improve our offerings and how to better represent the architects in this country. The survey takes less than five minutes to complete and will remain open until September 15.  Participants will be entered to win one of two 1-year subscriptions to the NBS Chorus construction specification platform (valued at $2000 each) sponsored by Huxebo; one of five $100 gift cards; one of five 2026 RAIC Conference day passes; or a grand prize of one All-Access conference pass.

Submit a Proposal for the RAIC 2026 Conference on Architecture

The RAIC invites proposals for continuing education sessions and architectural tours for the conference taking place in person in Vancouver, BC May 5-8, 2026 at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre.

The Conference program is designed to promote professional and educational success, and will feature high-quality educational sessions with interactive content, innovative ideas, and engaging discussions. The program will also feature local architecture tours that provide exclusive insight into Vancouver’s built environment.

The deadline for submissions is September 22, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. PT.

Call for Volunteers – RAIC Working Groups  

The RAIC is seeking member volunteers to join the following working groups:  

  1. Professional Practice Working Group  
  2. Continuing Education Advisory Committee
  3. Climate Action Plan Working Groups 
  4. Fees and Procurement Working Group  
  5. Long Term Care Design Working Group 
  6. Promoting Equity and Justice Working Group   
  7. Committee on Regenerative Environments 
  8. Awards Advisory Committee 
  9. CHOP BIM Working Group 

Terms will run for two to three years starting January 1, 2026. Volunteers commit to attend up to 12 meetings per year. Deadline to apply: September 26, 2025.

Timothy Vincent Murray

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of our dearly beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Timothy Vincent Murray on the 27th of June 2025. Loving and devoted husband of Jane Murray (née Taylor) for 67 years. Proud father of Thady (Pamela), Sarah (Nicholas), Sean (Jamilah). Proud grandfather of Kris, Jeffrey Anthony (Wendy), Patrick Omar, Juliet (Michael), Maggie (Antoine), Rachael, Laila, Sophia (John), Liam, Philip, Timothy; and great-grandfather to Desmond, Talia, Gabriel and Olivia. Beloved brother of the late William, Philip, and Patrick; and uncle to many cherished nieces and nephews.

UIA International Student Competition 

Under the title Catalysts of Resilience, it invites students to design spatial interventions that enable resistance and adaptation to predictable threats related to political shifts, social transformations, and climate change. The competition calls for design proposals that foster this capacity for resilience using time as a design tool.

UIA Call for Nominations
 
RAIC members are invited to submit nominations for the UIA Gold Medal and the six UIA Prizes. The winners will be announced during the UIA World Congress of Architects in Barcelona, Spain, in 2026.
