RAIC to Oversee Parks Canada's Design Competition For New Visitor Reception in Banff National Park

Parks Canada recently announced its intent to hold an international architectural design competition for the redevelopment of the 200-Block of Banff Avenue, which will house purpose-built spaces and facilities to support visitor reception, enjoyment and connection with the rest of the park, and foster understanding of the challenges faced by protected areas like Banff National Park.  

Given the scope of the project, the RAIC has been engaged to oversee the competition. Concluding in March of 2026, the competition will follow established standards and protocols and bring professional expertise to the evaluation process to generate conceptual designs for the site.

Why are we asking you to participate in this survey? The aim of this report is to provide valuable insights into remuneration trends; offering a detailed analysis of salary ranges, factors influencing compensation, and regional variations. Whether you are an emerging professional just getting started in your career or a seasoned industry stakeholder seeking to benchmark salaries within your own team, this report will serve as a valuable resource.

We will publish results in Spring/Summer 2025.

This event envisions their transformation into Edmonton's first winter garden—a year-round third space where downtown residents, office workers, and cultural aficionados converge to connect, create, and celebrate.
