Yew-Thong Leong, a Toronto-based architect, and Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) has been acclaimed as Dean of the RAIC College of Fellows for a three-year term beginning June 2024. Leong will succeed Thomas Emodi, FRAIC of Halifax, who served two terms starting in 2018. 

The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) is honoured to announce the 41 Fellows inducted into the RAIC College. 

A Fellow of the RAIC College is a member of the RAIC who has achieved professional eminence or has rendered distinctive service to the profession or to the community at large. Nomination and advancement to Fellowship is administered by the RAIC College. Fellowship is bestowed upon individuals through a nomination process and recognizes members for their contribution to research, scholarship, public service, or professional standing to the good of architecture in Canada, or elsewhere. 

Fellows will be officially inducted to the RAIC College on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at a convocation ceremony during the 2024 RAIC Conference in Vancouver, BC.  

Since late 2022, the RAIC has been engaged in foundational work leading to the development of a climate action plan for the organization. The process has included community engagement, consultation, research and analysis of findings which has led to a draft outline for the climate action plan.  

We are sharing the outline of the plan and want to hear from you on the following areas: commitment, guiding principles, priority areas and actions. 

Provide your feedback on or before April 12, 2024 via a brief questionnaire. 

The RAIC would like to express its gratitude to the Climate Action Engagement and Enablement Plan Steering Committee and Working Group members who have supported the development of the Climate Action Engagement and Enablement Plan. 

The RAIC is pleased to partner on a new innovative "Managing Construction" course series that will empower you to manage and mitigate project risks by focusing on the roles, responsibilities, and expectations of the CCDC contract clauses that are commitments to each other.
