The RAIC Congress on Architecture Week 2022 is a series of activities and events that bring together professionals for celebrations and discourses on architecture.   
It is a week that honours exceptional achievements and dedication to architecture while acting as a forum for important discussions on climate action, social justice, equality, and diversity in the profession.   
 
Join the RAIC for celebrations and discussions on architecture while exploring the historic coastal town of St. Andrews, New Brunswick.

Join the RAIC Director representing Interns and Intern Architects, Jennifer Kinnunen, MRAIC, for an open discussion on the opportunities and challenges facing architectural interns in Canada today. This national forum will give those in attendance the chance to share their experiences, provide important resources, and plan for future meetings, events, and initiatives to help support those emerging in the profession.

In honour of National Indigenous History Month, the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) is proud to announce an extension of our collaboration with NVision Insight Group to offer an online Indigenous cultural awareness training program for the Architecture community.

Since launching the course in 2021, hundreds of architecture professionals and firms have made the commitment to enhance their Indigenous cultural awareness and joined us on The Path. We are also proud to announce that starting June 1, 2022, the RAIC will contribute a portion of each course registration to the Indian Residential School Survivor Society, an organization that provides essential services to Residential School Survivors, their families, and those dealing with Intergenerational traumas.

We are profoundly saddened to lose Marten Willem Duhoux, ir Architect AAA MAA NWTAA OAA SAA MRAIC AIA LEED BD+C ID+C, Principal, far too soon after a brief battle with cancer.

Marten leaves behind his wife of 28 years, Joanne, and children Feiko and Aggie.

A memorial service will be held June 29th at 4:00pm in the Piano Nobile of the Centennial Concert Hall. As per Marten's wishes, expressions of sympathy may be made as a donation to the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra

Thriving Forests & Regenerative Built Environments -The first event of its kind hosted by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) and Pilot Projects Collaborative (Wood at Work).

This September, join us at this important symposium that will engage participants on multi-disciplinary questions surrounding relationships between forest legacies past and future, and the design, construction, and stewardship of our built environments.

A series of participants will discuss topics such as Indigenous perspectives on sustainable forestry, the carbon sequestration potential of Canadian forests and wood products, community perspectives on regenerative built environments, and the roles that architects can play in integrating these considerations into their practices.

Architecture is important and this year's selection makes connections between industrial design giants and social responsibility to workers, their families, and communities, revitalization of great architectural structures years later and celebrating the works of one of the world's great architects opening his first exhibit in honour of his first building in Toronto.  

This year the 11th edition of the ICFF presented by Lavazza moves to the Distillery Historic District in Toronto. From June 24 to July 16, 40 feature films and 23 short films will be showcased in a one-of-a-kind outdoor cinema village

Niagara Region is launching the second installment of the Niagara Biennial Design Awards. The Call for Submissions is open until September 16, 2022.

The awards program celebrates design excellence of the built environment. Design categories for the 2022 program include:

• Visionary Design (unbuilt projects)
• Urban Design
• Architecture
• Interior Public Spaces
• Landscape Architecture
• Outdoor Art
• Enduring Design (Legacy projects)
• Student designs

For a project to be eligible, it must be located within the boundaries of Niagara Region and must be completed between January 01, 2020 and September 16, 2022.

Call for submissions closes:  September 16, 2022
