Dear RAIC members,

The RAIC continues its work advocating on behalf of architects and the profession, engaging directly and regularly with several federal ministries and stakeholders in the allied professions and related associations. Although this situation remains unpredictable, the focus is beginning to shift from containing the COVID-19 crisis and supporting Canadians with immediate financial support, to preparing for the transition out of complete social distancing and recovery.

As the Federal Government prepares to gradually reopen the economy, we are focusing our advocacy efforts on how the profession is poised to support this economic activity, and specifically, on infrastructure spending.

To that end, we are launching a second Pulse Survey to gather real-time data to inform ongoing advocacy. We thank you in advance for your participation and engagement in these collective efforts.

Your responses to this survey will assist the RAIC in gathering information in preparation for the transition and recovery phases of COVID-19. This survey gathers data on the following areas:  
 
•Access to the COVID-19 Economic Response plan benefits   
•Revenues   
•Operations   
•Staffing and human resources   
•Readiness for return to work service delivery   
 
This survey will be open from April 30 until 8:00 EST May 8, 2020, and we encourage you to share this survey with your network. Responses are confidential and will be used in aggregate form.

As we enter the second month of shutdowns, self-isolation, and physical distancing, the RAIC will be hosting a virtual town hall on Thursday, May 7, 2020, from 12:00 pm –1:00 pm EST.

Hosted by President John Brown FRAIC, this forum will provide an overview of RAIC activities over the past month as well as create a space for members to ask questions, join together for a discussion, and share information on topics related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Information gathered about experiences, challenges, and solutions will continue to inform RAIC activities going forward. 

Bring your questions, experiences, resources and ideas, and take this opportunity to learn from each other. 

Registration is limited to 100 participants and we ask that only one representative from any organization attend. The session will be recorded and shared following the event.
