RAIC Representative on the Canadian Construction Documents Committee - Quebec regionThe RAIC seeks nominees to fill the role of the Quebec representative on the Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC). The CCDC is comprised of the stakeholders from the design and construction industry including owners, architects, engineers, specification writers, quantity surveyors, and contractors. They are responsible for the creation and revision of a wide range of contractual documents and guides, pivotal to the effective operations of the industry. The role involves: • travel to various Canadian cities for weekend meetings five to six times per year; • actively engaging in discussions about issues faced by stakeholders in the design/construction industry; • communicating the results of meetings to members of the architectural community through the RAIC. Candidates best suited to this volunteer opportunity are:
• knowledgeable, experienced, and passionate about contract administration and architectural practice; • familiar with the regulations, contractual conditions, and construction practices in Quebec; and • able to converse on matters of architectural practice and construction contract administration in both official languages.
