Stakeholder and Communications Management
Learn about managing the demands of project stakeholders and effective communication practices essential for project success at this session, featuring chapters 5.2 and 5.3 of the Canadian Handbook of Practice for Architects (CHOP). This essential guide provides valuable insights into the professional practice of architecture in Canada.

Discussion Topics:
Chapter 5.2: Stakeholder Management

We'll discuss the integral link between managing a project's requirements and its stakeholders, particularly in complex projects with multiple stakeholder groups and competing interests. This chapter emphasizes the collaborative role of the client and the architect in engaging and communicating with stakeholders. It provides clear direction on using project management principles and methodologies to manage stakeholder relationships, techniques for analyzing stakeholders' interests and influences, and specific processes for monitoring stakeholder engagement.

Chapter 5.3: Communications Management

We'll explore the central role of communication in architectural practice and its impact on project success. This chapter discusses the importance of clear, concise, and unambiguous communication in various situations, from explaining roles and responsibilities to resolving construction site issues. It outlines the principles of effective communication and various techniques to help architects manage project information and stakeholders' needs.
