Job Description

Position Overview

5468796 Architecture is seeking a talented and technically skilled experienced intern Architect or registered Architect with a minimum of 3 years of Canadian experience in an architectural practice to join our team full-time in a dynamic, creative environment. Our studio thrives on collaboration, passion, and curiosity. We take on projects of all scales and types, but our common thread is pushing boundaries, experimenting with new ideas, and delivering outstanding results no matter the budget. This role is ideal for a team-minded intern architect with a few years of experience who wants to grow within a supportive and inspiring practice.

Responsibilities

As an architectural intern or registered Architect at 5468796, you’ll be involved in projects from start to finish—from concept and schematic design through to construction administration. You’ll typically work closely with a partner or senior project architect, gaining mentorship while developing independence in drawing production and project workflows. As we get to know you and your skill set, you may take on direct responsibility as a ‘project architect’ alongside a partner or principal. Depending on project size, you could either be part of a larger collaborative team or lead key elements with greater autonomy.

Master of Architecture (or equivalent) and intern or registered member of a Canadian licensing body

Minimum 3 years of Canadian experience in an architectural practice

Legally able to work in Canada [permanent resident or existing work visa]

Proficiency in CAD (Vectorworks an asset), Photoshop, InDesign, Pages, Numbers, and basic 3D modelling

Strong design and technical skills and a robust ability to clearly communicate concepts through drawings and diagrams

Solid organizational and project management skills

Ability to produce construction document sets under senior supervision and working knowledge of technical detailing and building code

Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and graphic

Team-oriented, proactive, adaptable, and eager to make things happen

Interest in design culture and the broader purpose of architecture

Ability to self-edit and embrace constructive feedback

• Additional Assets: advanced 3D modelling/rendering (Sketchup, Rhino, V-ray, etc.), experience with zoning approvals or alternate code solutions in MB or other jurisdictions
