We are looking forward to the start of the next term. In preparation for that, the RAIC Syllabus National Office will be hosting a welcome meeting open to everyone in the Syllabus community. This is an excellent networking opportunity where you will get the chance to talk to students from other studios.    
 
The meeting will be held on Monday, September 12th from 7pm to 8pm EST. The meeting is open to everyone, pre-registration is required. 

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. If you have any questions, please submit them in advance via email to info@raic-syllabus.ca 

Term 2, 2022 will begin September 1, 2022.  

One of society’s great challenges of the next three decades will be to balance the need for low-carbon urban construction with the need to conserve and restore thriving forests. Canada will find itself in the centre of this global crucible, called upon to provide “wood to the world” so that expanding cities avoid the worst climate impacts of building with concrete and steel.  

Three panels on day one of the symposium will feature the following themes: 
“Ways of Seeing a Forest” (ecology, forestry, society and Indigeneity) 
“Carbon and Climate Change”  
“Policies and Practices” (forestry, building code, climate targets)

Athabasca registration

The registration deadline is the 10th of each month for history, theory, and technical courses with our educational service provider, Athabasca University. Courses will start on the 1st of the following month. 
 
Remember to register on the Syllabus Student Portal as well. Our systems are not linked with Athabasca University, so this does not register you twice or result in any fees. This simply allows us to maintain the student records and transcripts in our own system.
