Les Klein is a Principal and co-founder of Quadrangle Architects in Toronto. He is committed to the idea that urban design, city building, and architectural excellence all play vital roles in enhancing the quality of community life. He holds a Master of Architecture degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as two Bachelor of Science degrees (in arts and design and mathematics). Les has helped shape Quadrangle’s success through innovative residential development, adaptive reuse of existing structures, and creation of dynamic environments for ideas-based entrepreneurial companies, including broadcast and media facilities. He was inducted into the RAIC College of Fellows in 1995 and has served on the Board of Directors since 2011. Les received international attention for the Green Ribbon; his proposal to build a seven-kilometre green roof and park over Toronto’s elevated Gardiner Expressway. A frequent speaker at professional conferences, Les has taught at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design, and has been a visiting critic at the University of Waterloo and York University.
