This is an excellent and unique opportunity for a leader in the in the planning and architecture industry to join a reputable and growing firm as a Senior Planner in Toronto, Ontario.


Our Client is a leading firm in the architecture and planning industry.  With a focus in master planning, urban design and architecture our Client has developed award winning projects both locally and nationally in the design industry.  With over 40 years in the industry and an amazing leadership team our Client has created a dynamic and collaborative working environment built to support and develop their team. With an integrated approach to their designs their planning and architecture team work together to deliver pragmatic and forward thinking planning approaches to their work.  They are growing and progressing and building a great team and plan to develop further expanding their company further in Ontario.


The Senior Planner will have experience working with multiple disciplines in the planning and development of creating relationships between residential and non-residential buildings, mixed-use communities, landscape and infrastructure elements. Through innovative and forward thinking perspectives this individual will lead projects and work directly with client in both the private and public sector. With experience in leadership and mentorship this individual will set a precedent for managing projects and working with teams for the rest of the planning team.

This candidate will have the following aspects;
Master's in Architecture, Design or Planning with an OAA registration or PLAN designation
LEED AP and PMP are additional assets
7+ years' experience as a Planner in Canada (ideally Ontario)
5+ years' experience working with development approvals and land-use planning
Experience working within any or all of the following sectors;
Development planning and approvals experience in Toronto and the GTA
Public-Private Partnerships/ Third-Party Delivery Mechanisms;
Development Management;
Social and Environmental Sustainability Planning + Design;
Mobility and transit-oriented development
Excellent client relationship management skill set within the land-use and development space
Excellent technical knowledge and design experience within the industry with a proven knowledge base with Ontario Provincial, Regional and Municipal Policy (Growth Planning, Supportive ‘Infrastructure’ Planning (e.g. Transportation and Movement, Housing), secondary plans, framework plans, hub/ corridor studies, etc.)
Understanding of municipal approval process including understanding of design justifications, planning rationales and other elements included in that process
Detailed approach to project management and design with an entrepreneurial mindset
High energy, innovative thinking and a dynamic approach to design and planning a must
Excellent presentation and communication skills
