The HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and Lighting Departments are extremely well developed and enjoys a good reputation with both retail customers and contractor customers. Providing both sales and installation services, the departments are major profit centres for the building centre and currently have around 55 employees including sales, installation, scheduling, and product specialists.
The Role
As Design manager, your role is to mentor and develop the design team, while overseeing the development of all design projects. The design manager will work with clients to bring their dreams and needs into consideration while creating a plan that is distinctly theirs. They will assist and advise the team through the duration of the building project. While ensuring that things go smoothly and help to maximize cost efficiently, minimize maintenance and add to resale value. Further, the design manager will continue to grow the department and design side of the business incorporating new and evolving design practices into the business as it continues to grow..
The Person
The ideal candidate will be a MAA registered Architect with strong knowledge of Manitoba Building Codes. This individual will ideally have had some leadership experience and a keen eye for detail. Experience of the client/customer service side of the business is ideal. We are looking for an individual with an entrepreneurial nature, someone who is ready to lead a team and be apart of a fantastic team culture. Construction background is preferred.
