id=\"display_ats_requisition_description\" class=\"cell_input col-sm-9\">\n<div class=\"form-control-static\">\n<h3>POSITION SUMMARY<\/h3>\n<p>The Maintenance &amp; Facilities Project Manager will provide support and technical leadership to all sites within the County\u2019s portfolio including numerous non-profit housing providers, under the guidance of the Senior Maintenance &amp; Facilities Engineer and assist in overseeing the development of capital plans, projects, and maintenance programs processes\/practices. \u00a0This will include advice on applicable legislation and standards, issues related to the buildings, building systems, landscaping, safety &amp; security, equipment and capital improvements. \u00a0The Project Manager will also assist with the supervision and daily activities of junior staff and co-op students.<\/p>\n<h3>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES \u00a0(not listed in order of priority)<\/h3>\n<p>1.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Design daily, monthly and annual maintenance systems for County facilities and housing providers.<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Under supervision of the Senior Maintenance &amp; Facilities Engineer, prepare tender documents, project drawings, estimates and contractor selection for use by the County and non-profit corporations.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Assist the Senior Maintenance &amp; Facilities Engineer to provide advice and guidance on capital works projects including site inspections, direct contractors in completion of work; inspect work in progress for adherence to specification by contractors and final inspection reports for deficiencies in all work.<\/p>\n<p>4.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Assist the Maintenance &amp; Facilities Engineers and the Maintenance &amp; Facilities Supervisors as required.<\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Evaluate building materials, methods of construction and completed work.<\/p>\n<p>6.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Under guidance of the Senior Maintenance &amp; Facilities Engineer, develop standard maintenance related policies and procedures.<\/p>\n<p>7.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Provide advice, guidance and monitoring of housing providers\/housing Corporation to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and procedures related to the safety and security of tenants and staff and servicing of systems to meet Fire and Building Codes.<\/p>\n<p>8.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Work effectively with boards of directors, provider staff, suppliers and consultants.<\/p>\n<p>9.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Under supervision of the Senior Maintenance &amp; Facilities Engineer, make recommendations to providers on maintenance priorities, allocating resources (budget, human, physical) and providing technical advice and guidance to provider staff and contractors in order to implement preventative maintenance programs and to expedite repairs when required.<\/p>\n<p>10.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Ensure drawings, scope of work, tender documents and estimates are prepared accurately whether completed internally or externally though consultants.<\/p>\n<p>11.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Provide recommendations to County staff and providers on the purchase equipment, materials and supplies according to needs, budget limitations and purchasing policy.<\/p>\n<p>12.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Assist in the development and implementation of County and Providers operating and capital plans and budgets.<\/p>\n<p>13.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Meet with providers to perform building condition assessments and to develop capital plans and ensure all plans are updated in County\u2019s asset management system.<\/p>\n<p>14.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Attendance at board meetings is required which may occur in the evening.<\/p>\n<p>15.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Develop and maintain effective relationships with other departments, managers, and fire departments, alarm companies, building inspectors, engineers, architects, consultants and all trades.<\/p>\n<p>16.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Responsible for assisting with the preparation of reports to County Council on matters relating to asset planning, capital expenditures, and other policy related topics.<\/p>\n<p>17.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Participate in committees as required.<\/p>\n<p>18.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Comply with provincial and County\u2019s occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.<\/p>\n<p>19.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.<\/p>\n<p>20.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Perform other duties as assigned, including CERTIFICATION<\/h3>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch), undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering is required. \u00a0This job may be considered for educational equivalency in accordance with County Policy.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Knowledge of engineering principles, practice and terminology related to building envelope, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and life safety building systems.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Provide after hour support to all emergency situations in the portfolio and make corrected decisions on a rotating schedule.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Knowledge on energy management systems and practices.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Strong knowledge of all facets of building construction and preventative maintenance systems.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Excellent organizational skills to efficiently meet daily deadlines.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Knowledge of applicable legislation and codes related to facility construction, maintenance and operations.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Knowledge and experience performing building condition assessments for \u00a0Asset Management software such as CityWide is an asset.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Preventative Maintenance software such as SAP is an asset.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Membership
