Members are invited to nominate candidates to stand for election for the positions of Regional Director of Alberta and the Northwest Territories, Regional Director of Saskatchewan, Regional Director of Quebec, Regional Director of the Atlantic, and Director representing Interns and Intern Architects. The term of office for each Director is three years, beginning July 1, 2021.

UIA Member Sections and UIA elected officials may nominate candidates of any nationality or place of residence. The RAIC is recognized as a UIA Member Section, and thus can put forward candidates for consideration on behalf of our membership.  
 
UIA Member Sections or elected UIA officials may submit up to three nominations for each prize, and they can be from different countries or all from the same country. Nominations must conform to these regulations and the schedule published by the UIA Secretariat.

Members of the RAIC College of Fellows are invited to nominate their peers for the position of Dean of the College of Fellows. The term of Thomas Emodi, FRAIC, of Halifax, current Dean ends June 21, 2021. He has confirmed that he will be standing for re-election. 

The Dean’s responsibilities include management of regional chapters, committee memberships, and national screening co-ordination. 

The Dean will serve a three-year term, which begins at the College of Fellows Annual Meeting in June 2021. 

The deadline for nominations is April 2, 2021 at 5:00 pm ET. 

College of Fellows Centennial Fund for Intern/Intern Architect 

The College of Fellows Centennial Fund for Interns or Intern Architects was created with donations received from members of the College of Fellows and members of the RAIC. The Fund is intended to support a deserving Intern or Intern Architect or group of Interns/Intern Architects wishing to promote the value and image of the profession.

Kiyoshi Matsuzaki RAIC Endowment Fund and Scholarship 

This endowment fund was established in honour of Kiyoshi Matsuzaki PP/FRAIC, 1943–2012, for the purpose of awarding an annual scholarship to be known as the Kiyoshi Matsuzaki RAIC Scholarship to a student enrolled in the RAIC Syllabus Program. 

The Scholarship advances Kiyoshi Matsuzaki's personal belief in the future of the profession of architecture and his unyielding support of the younger generation of students, the next leaders of our profession.

Canada Green Building Council Scholarship for Sustainable Design and Research 

This scholarship was established through an endowment from the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) in June 2006. The main purpose of the fund is to nurture the next generation of “green” designers by promoting and encouraging sustainable research and design in Canadian Schools of Architecture. 

The Canada Green Building Council's mission is to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live, work and play by engaging a national coalition of industry leaders to accelerate the mainstream adoption of green building principles, policies, practices, standards and tools.

On behalf of the College of Fellows National Committee, the RAIC is seeking Regional Chairs for the College of Fellows. These are volunteer positions and applicants are welcome to apply for the following regions:  

Quebec

British Columbia/Yukon  

Victoria  

Eligible applicants must be members in good standing of the College of Fellows and must be a resident in the region of interest.  

As per the current College of Fellows Rules and Regulations, the Regional Chair will assist the Officers of the College by receiving nominations, by initiating committee work when requested, and by liaising with the RAIC’s Regional Director and local organizations on matters of mutually beneficial interest.  

The duration of the Regional Chair's appointment will be at the pleasure of the Chancellor, with a maximum term of three years.
