The RAIC invites proposals for continuing education sessions and architectural tours for the conference taking place in person in Vancouver, BC May 5-8, 2026 at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre.

The Conference program is designed to promote professional and educational success, and will feature high-quality educational sessions with interactive content, innovative ideas, and engaging discussions. The program will also feature local architecture tours that provide exclusive insight into Vancouver’s built environment.

The deadline for submissions is September 22, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. PT. 

How can the RAIC continue serving you? Let us know through the RAIC Community Survey! Results will directly inform the reinvigoration of RAIC's membership model, after thorough validation and reporting. The survey takes less than five minutes to complete and will remain open until September 15. The RAIC is proud to announce the launch of the Climate Action Plan (CAP) – A Framework for Engagement and Enablement. Developed through two years of national engagement and collaboration, the CAP offers a bold, practical roadmap for accelerating climate action in architecture.

The wait is over! Our newly updated and most sought-after continuing education courses is now available. Master the critical safety requirements that protect lives and ensure compliance with the latest 2020 NBCC standards. Both courses have been completely updated to reflect all the important changes in the new 2020 National Building Code of Canada edition. This includes over 280 technical changes which help improve the level of safety, health, accessibility, fire and structural protection, and energy efficiency provided by the Code, and expanding the NBC into new areas.   

Please note that the RAIC’s National Office in Ottawa will be closed from June 30 to July 4, reopening on July 7. We wish our members a happy and relaxing summer.  

It was with profound respect that the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) acknowledges the impactful contributions of Yves Gosselin, AP/FIRAC, who led the Institute as its President during the 2005–2006 term. Gosselin was inducted as a Fellow of the College of Fellows in 2005, served as a Trustee of the RAIC Foundation from 2007 to 2009, was a long-time Professional Advisor for the RAIC’s Honours and Awards Program, served as Registrar of the College from 2011 to 2013, and was Executive Director of the RAIC Foundation from 2016 to 2019.  He left an indelible mark on national architectural advocacy, public-sector excellence, and institutional leadership. His passing leaves a legacy of dedication to raising the prominence and voice of architecture in Canada.
