The RAIC is moving toward a new designation – RAIC – to be used only by licensed architects starting next year.
The board of the RAIC has voted to restrict the designation to members licensed by provincial regulators to practice architecture and to sunset the MRAIC designation. Before taking effect, this change must be approved by the members at the annual general meeting on June 8 at the RAIC Festival of Architecture in Nanaimo, BC.
About 70 people attended the RAIC Celebration of Advocacy that took place April 19 in Ottawa. The reception celebrated the successful outcome of the advocacy campaign that saw design and heritage organizations working together in the public interest.
All members are invited to attend RAIC’s AGM which will take place during the Festival of Architecture in Nanaimo, Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Departure A & B at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre.
A special resolution to amend RAIC By-laws regarding RAIC designations will require members’ approval. Materials will be sent via e-notice in May.
