Registration for Term 1, 2026, is open and closes on January 31

Each design studio location will decide if the next term will be held in person or online. If you have any questions about this, please reach out to your studio coordinator(s). 

Registrations received after the January 31 deadline will be subject to a Late Studio Registration Fee of $99.00 plus applicable taxes. Students are encouraged to register early to avoid additional fees and ensure timely placement in Studio.  

Annual Re-Enrollment Fee is open and is due by January 31

The annual re-enrollment fee will be added to your cart automatically at checkout when you register for a course. If you are not registering for Design Studio in Term 1, 2026, you can pay the annual re-enrollment fee on your account by clicking on "Courses and Registration," and selecting continue at the bottom of the page.

Escalating late fees will be charged throughout February. Students who have not re-enrolled for the year will be marked as Inactive starting on March 1. Inactive students will be required to pay both the re-application fee and the annual re-enrollment fee to reactivate their accounts. We are looking forward to the start of the next term. In preparation, the RAIC Syllabus National Office will be hosting a welcome meeting open to everyone in the Syllabus community. This meeting is an excellent networking opportunity, offering the chance to connect with students from other studios.    

In addition, we welcome any ideas and questions that you would like discussed during the meeting. Suggestions may be submitted in advance by email to info@raic-syllabus.ca

The meeting will be held Wednesday, February 25th at 7PM EST. The meeting is open to everyone. Pre-registration is required.

Kiyoshi Matsuzaki RAIC Endowment Fund and Scholarship - Call for Submissions

This endowment fund was established in honour of Kiyoshi Matsuzaki FRAIC, 1943- 2012.  It awards the annual Kiyoshi Matsuzaki RAIC Scholarship to a student enrolled in the RAIC Syllabus Program. The Scholarship advances Kiyoshi Matsuzaki's personal belief in the future of the profession of architecture and his unyielding support of the new generation of students, the next leaders of our profession. 

This award is open to Syllabus students in good standing who have completed a minimum 50% of the program. 

Each application/ submission must include the following material:

  • Curriculum Vitae/biography (max. 2 pages)
  • Supporting material: student or work experience activity, projects and relevant background information
  • Letters of support (minimum 1, maximum 3)
  • A statement by the applicant outlining why his/her application should be considered for the Scholarship
  •

Calling all Architecture Students! The Canadian Architecture Student Association (CASA-ACÉA) would like to celebrate the excellence of our architecture students. CASA-ACÉA is calling for work to be showcased at the 2026 RAIC Conference this May in Vancouver to continue our efforts to profile student work to potential employers, colleagues, and the public.

Eligible participants must be current students or recent graduates of an accredited Canadian architecture school or RAIC Syllabus. All projects must have been completed in 2025.

Students in Part 2 of the Syllabus Program must manually register for APST 505: Advanced Structures and ARCH 653: Contemporary Architectural Theory and Research through Athabasca University’s Faculty of Science and Technology graduate program office.Steps to manually register for APST 505 and ARCH 653:  

  1. Request a Letter of Enrollment by contacting info@raic-syllabus.ca. 
  2. Send the signed Letter of Enrollment to fst_grad_success@athabascau.ca and request assistance with course registration.

All Syllabus students enrolled in Parts 2 and 3 of the Program must work under the supervision of an architect licensed to practice in their applicable ROAC jurisdiction. All professional experience must be recorded in the Canadian Experience Record Book (CERB).     

Submission Requirements 

Students are required to submit CERB experience logs after every 900-1,000 hours of experience. Submissions received more than eight weeks after completion or exceeding 1,000 hours are subject to a late processing fee of $115.76 per log.    

There has been a recent increase in CERB submissions containing mathematical errors. Please double-check the addition in the totals column on page 4 to ensure the totals accurately reflect the hours accrued in each sector.

Students approaching the end of their Part 1 studies, who have been accruing hours while working under a Canadian-licensed architect, must submit their back-entered hours immediately prior to starting Part 2.  

Reminder: Students may record up to seven consecutive years of Canadian architectural experience accrued before starting Part 2, with a maximum 4,900 hours eligible for back-entry, divided as follows:   

  • Part 2: 2,450 hours 
  • Part 3: 2,450 hours 

All back-entered hours must be divided into logs of 900–1,000 hours each.

Athabasca registration

The registration deadline is the 10th of each month for history, theory, and technical courses with our educational service provider, Athabasca University. Courses begin on the 1st of the following month.  
  
Remember to register on the Syllabus Student Portal as well. Our systems are not linked with Athabasca University, so this does not register you twice or result in additional fees. This step allows us to maintain student records and transcripts within the Syllabus system.  

Upon completing Athabasca courses, students should forward their Statement of Grades to the Syllabus office. However, official RAIC transcripts, certificates of completion, and diplomas will only be issued once official Athabasca University transcripts have been received through MyCreds, the secure document-sharing platform.
