Impact Summit 2017: Migration, Culture and Diversity

Co-presented by IDC and the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), the Impact Summit will convene a community of leaders from the business, government and non-profit sectors to forge innovative design solutions to North America’s most pressing challenges in the built environment. IDC and ASID seek to foster action through insightful and provocative programming designed to help members and participants connect, collaborate and drive ideas to action.

ABOUT THE SUMMIT

We are a melting pot of diverse cultures and demographics. As migratory patterns intensify due to economic, climactic and current affairs, a demographic revolution is taking place. How do we encourage our cities and neighbourhoods to support and serve migratory populations? How do we create inclusive societies that instill a culture of belonging? How do we celebrate the diversity that is rooted in our identity? These questions shape our understanding of contemporary society and force us to create and integrate design solutions that respond to the needs of this ethno-culturally diverse group. In light of the unique Canadian experience specifically in the Regent Park community of Toronto, IDC and ASID will present Impact Summit 2017: Migration, Culture and Diversity in the Built Environment
