Convergence of Art and Architecture in Practice and Education
Date: April 24, 2019
Presenter: Andrew King

SESSION:
This session will discuss applied and academic research in trans-disciplinary research. This will include the intersection of art and architecture in the work from the Prix de Rome project “romalux”, the trans-disciplinary international design competition winning “Place des Montréalaises” and the ongoing research within the performing architecture studio at McGill University’s School of Architecture.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
At the completion of this session, the participant/learner will be able to:

  • define trans-disciplinary practice as a broad linkage across art, architecture, landscape;
  • further understand the power of speculative work on framing and furthering an applied research agenda in practice;
  • recognize a research thread across 30 years of practice.

Continuing education learning hours: 1 credit
