Vancouver Green Roof Symposium – Dec. 5th
Vancouver has long been a Canadian hotbed for sustainability and
environmental planning, but now the municipal government is
looking to do even more. On July 25th Vancouver City Council
unanimously approved a motion to develop a policy that requires
green roofs for the municipality.
In support of this initiative Green Roofs for Healthy Cities is convening
experts from the green roof industry from the design, government, and
development sectors to share best practices and discuss how they could
inform policy options tailored to Vancouver’s unique climate.
This one-day event features industry experts and local leaders presenting
on green roofs and walls, local standout projects, and the importance of
strong policy support. The Symposium also features a small trade show for
local companies, and interactive panel discussions to help develop policy.
• Discuss green roof and wall policy in the Vancouver metro area.
•Learn about green roof design best practice and implementation.
•See how to make the business case for green roofs and walls.
•Join panel discussions on ideas for green roof policy in Vancouver.
The event will bring together public, private, and NGO stakeholders to
explore how to make Vancouver a leader in the application of green roofs
and walls to benefit the environment and economy.
