Hunter Kauremszky-Sow the Seeds: Catalytic Architectures and Participatory Exchange

July 7, 2026

Presenting a localized alternative to our unsustainable global food system, this proposal demonstrates how formal conditions, spatial arrangements, and embedded capabilities support citizen-led economies and networks of sustainable food production, knowledge cultivation, and urban living.

JURY COMMENT

“The strategic choice of an urban site and an existing community building typology, effectively supports the new sustainable urban food program.
In light of the likely decommissioning of many post offices in Canadian communities, this project repurposes a building originally designed and constructed to serve the public while addressing the contemporary issue of local food self-sufficiency”.
