The following courses will be offered in Edmonton and Calgary this month.
SDCB 325: Integrating Sustainability: Selecting and Designing for Low-Energy Comfort Systems (or getting mechanical engineers back to designing, rather than simply sizing, building systems)
Edmonton: October 20, 2009
Calgary: October 21, 2009
This full-day course will include a brief overview of the principles and theory behind the movement of fluids and air and a review of HVAC systems. The course will then focus on how to achieve human comfort in buildings using natural ventilation and energy-efficient mechanical systems. Several case studies and a group exercise will be provided.
Calgary: October 28, 2009
Edmonton: October 29, 2009
To be really sustainable, communities have to be a delight to live and work in. Concrete can be used to produce beautiful, sustainable buildings that can be the foundation for many types of projects.
